Overseas Property

For the first time in over 50 years, more than half the population of this country have, in response to opinion polls said they would like to live abroad. Initially people thought of emigrating to Australia and New Zealand, but now increasingly Spain, France and Portugal, are becoming the favoured destinations, with Florida, Italy and Cyprus not far behind.

The system for buying and selling property in each of those countries is different from the one we use in the UK.

Whilst we cannot actually do the legal work for you, we can point you in the direction of one of a number of our contacts who may be able to help you.

We also provide a range of different services, depending on what you want us to do, and what level of involvement you wish us to have. Several of us speak foreign languages, and we also now have native French, Spanish and Greek speakers, some of whom are qualified lawyers in their own country, but who are all working with us to qualify as English Lawyers. They can also help deal with any queries you may have about their legal system. So if you want to buy either a timeshare or a property in France , Spain, Portugal, Italy or Greece we can help you understand the legal process, translating the documents for you and if need be liaising with the overseas lawyer invloved. and

If you already live abroad, if you live close to one of our associated offices, we may also be able to visit you there.

Even if we are not able to speak the language of the country you want to buy in, and there is a lot of interest now in Bulgaria, Turkey even Thaland and south east Asia, we may be able to help with a local legal contact.
